The Soccerplexe is the mecca of soccer in Lachine. It is the only sports centre in the Montréal area equipped with both an indoor and an outdoor soccer pitch. The latter can also be divided into 3 smaller courts to pit 7 against 7 (instead of 11 against 11). Additionally, the Soccerplexe was the
first in Québec to upgrade to “Fieldturf” (synthetic grass). The Olympic Stadium is the only other location in the area with this type of floor covering.
The Lac Saint-Louis Regional Soccer Association’s offices are at the Soccerplexe, and the Lachine Soccer Association holds a winter camp there for players at the Inter City and Elite levels. Québec’s teams also use it to host their evaluation camps and exhibition matches. The Soccerplexe is also recognized as a national centre of high performance for athletes identified by Soccer Canada. International soccer matches, various regional, provincial, national and international tournaments are held there as well.
The Soccerplexe is also available to football teams playing at various levels for evaluation or training camps. It is the permanent training site for the Montréal Impact, and occasionally, the Alouettes train there as well.
The Soccerplexe is also a true multidisciplinary sports centre. It contains a gym and can accommodate football, volleyball, rugby, baseball and ultimate Frisbee. The Centre is staffed with elite athletes and highly qualified coaches. Several other services are also available to athletes such as a sports therapy clinic, physiotherapy, sports camps for youngsters, a recreational senior soccer league in the summertime, pitch rentals and restoration.
